30-year-old Dan remains an active cool Dad thanks to a trendy TGA Minimo mobility scooter.8/18/2017 Despite living with breathing and walking difficulties, X-box and football fan Dan Trask aged 30 from Somerset, has discovered how to remain an active cool Dad thanks to a trendy TGA Minimo mobility scooter.
Dan has two young daughters aged 3 and 7 and lives with his partner in scenic Timberscombe, near Minehead. Dan was born with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, chronic airflow obstruction and exercise induced Hypoxia which means he requires ambulatory oxygen to breath. This was the result of his lungs being damaged during his mother’s pregnancy as she had to be treated for Leukaemia. As Dan only has 25% lung function his capacity to walk any distance is limited so to remain mobile he uses a mobility scooter. Before driving a new TGA Minimo Dan owned a different folding scooter however its performance regularly let him down. Now with a trendy white Minimo Dan is able to continue enjoying life with regular trips to local forests and Bristol City FC. Susan owns a TGA Minimo Plus which is a lightweight, transportable scooter that folds in one action and can be stored in a car boot. Despite its compact size the advanced Minimo Plus provides a smooth and stable ride through suspension, pneumatic tyres and a supportive seat. Susan lives with walking difficulties however is able to maintain independence thanks to her scooter. Like TGA, Susan takes road safety seriously so decided to enter TGA’s recent Facebook competition to win a range of high visibility accessories. As one of five lucky winners, Susan has received a free high-vis jacket and ankle ‘snap-wraps’ so she is more visible to other pedestrians and road users. read more TGA Mobility's Safe Mobility Scooter Driving Awareness Day Proves Popular and Attracts ITV Anglia8/9/2017 TGA, the leading specialist for quality mobility scooters and independent living products, has successfully hosted its latest free safe driving awareness day – attended by high visitor numbers and ITV Anglia.
This popular event gave mobility scooter users and prospective owners the opportunity to learn the latest tips regarding safe driving. TGA provided a comprehensive test track outside its independent living showroom which encompassed a variety of ramps, cones and obstacles to simulate challenges encountered in real-life. This free-to-attend educational experience aimed to build greater awareness of the Highway Code whilst enhancing confidence and safety. Several charities and companies were in attendance including Parkinson’s UK, MS Society, Macmillan and Rehab United along with Police officers from the local constabulary. In addition to the large number of existing and potential scooter users in attendance, TGA were delighted to welcome Kate Prout from ITV Anglia who was currently using a scooter due to a broken foot. A reporter from the national magazine Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK) also came along to discover more about this latest safety initiative from TGA. We had a good time at The Mobility Roadshow, we were there all day and had a jolly good look round. I tried most of the TGA range on their test track so I could get a feel for which scooter would be right for me. Amongst these I tried the Minimo Plus 4 as we are looking for one that will fit in a car and has four wheels so I feel more stable. It was very comfortable and much better than my old three-wheeler.” Jane adds: “The Roadshow allowed me to test drive several cars with adapted hand controls as my husband and I are still researching which is the best combination of scooter and vehicle.
